Tianjin Jinbin Smart Water Plant
Recently, Tianjin Jinbin Water Plant completed a comprehensive upgrade of its security
system, covering video surveillance, access control, alarm linkage, and more. The project adopts Yuantuo industrial-grade PoE switches as the core communication equipment, ensuring efficient signal transmission even in complex environments and building an intelligent, efficient, and secure security system for the plant.
Jinbin Water Plant is the first facility in Tianjin to receive raw water from the South-to-North Water Diversion Project’s central route. Its Phase II expansion was completed in January 2023, advancing construction of a smart water plant. The plant’s peak daily water-supply capacity has now reached 750,000 m³, equivalent to the total supply capacity of all Tianjin water plants in the early 1980s. To further enhance safety—particularly in key areas such as the water source, treatment zones, and power distribution rooms—the project overhauled the plant’s entire security system.
The upgrade includes:

The solution uses industrial Ethernet switches from Shenzhen Yuantuo Optoelectronics to support the smart-security upgrade at Jinbin Water Plant. The entire system is built on a high-reliability fiber-optic ring network to ensure efficient access and stable transmission of front-end monitoring devices.
Ring Network 1: Ten RS6320-2GF18GT-16POE industrial switches deployed indoors provide PoE power and data collection for front-end devices, offering gigabit access, high-density ports, and industrial-grade stability for zero packet loss and near-zero latency.
Ring Network 2: Eighteen RS6310-2GF8GT-8POE and two RS636-2GF4GT-4POE industrial switches deployed in outdoor monitoring boxes feature IP-rated protection and resistance to harsh environments, ensuring reliable outdoor operation.
